Founded in 2001 and given a new logo in November 2010, the Austrian E-Commerce Quality trustmark's aim is to increase quality awareness and consumer confidence when trading online. The label, which is currently being used by more than 60 Austrian online stores, certifies professionalism in the e-commerce trade. Thus law abiding e-traders can easily be recognised on the internet as trust worthy, customer friendly and quality oriented online traders. The Austrian Retail Association (Handelsverband) also runs a long established Qualitätssiegel or Quality Label for distance sellers. Both trustmarks can only be used by e-commerce and distance selling players that have been thoroughly approved by a neutral survey body. An annual audit is carried out according to established quality criteria that include conformity with the law, user convenience and security of web functionalities. The list of criteria is kept in check with any evolutions of technical standards or legal rules. Both the Quality E-commerce & Quality label trustmarks are in fact linked to a distance sellers' code of conduct that obliges members to comply with a series of requirements, such as providing realistic, clear and accurate description of the goods and services; clear information on delivery conditions, packaging, postage; strict respect of the law concerning payment conditions and respect of privacy in data processing.

CERTIFIED SHOP is the national trustmark in Croatia which confirms the webstore’s compliance with national and EU guidelines for reliable online shopping. Its main goal is to raise the webstore’s recognition and trustworthiness among buyers, and consequently increase overall quality of the market.

The CERTIFIED SHOP trustmark is based on three pillars which are monitored continuously: customer experience, compliance to technical standards, and mystery shopping. Customer experience score is one of the two major factors that determine if seller is awarded the trustmark. Buyers are invited to rate their experience immediately after purchase, which makes the quality of the feedback more reliable. The second important certification factor is compliance to technical standards, where experts check various elements of the webstore. Mystery shopping, however, is only an informative feedback for the sellers, which helps them improve their overall shopping experience.

There are three levels of the CERTIFIED SHOP trustmark, where sellers are awarded one (*), two (**) or three (***) stars, depending on their overall score.

The license for using the CERTIFIED SHOP trustmark is valid 1 year, and may be extended. However, the webstore undergoes quarterly score validation, where it is determined whether all the trustmark criteria are still being met.

Webstores are certified by an independent authority Shopper’s Mind – sMind, the only institution in Croatia, authorized for awarding the CERTIFIED SHOP trustmark.

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has been authorized as the sole Trustmark Provider by Ministry of Commerce in 2018.

TOBB will evaluate e-commerce sites that want to receive trustmark according to the legislation and allocate trustmark to e-commerce sites that fulfill the requirements.  These requirements contain technical and judicial contents. The main objective of the trustmark is to increase the confidence of consumers in online shopping and to contribute to the growth of e-commerce.

The e-commerce site that will receive the trustmark is required to be registered with the Electronic Commerce Information System which belongs to Ministry of Commerce. Consumers will have a chance to access to information about the owner of e-commerce sites that have a trustmark.

Consumers will be able to forward their complaints about trustworthy e-commerce sites to TOBB through the Online Complaint System (OCS), which is part of the system. Complaints received from the (OCS) will be communicated to the relevant e-commerce site and to the Ministry of Commerce. E-commerce sites that have received a trustmark must respond to the complaints made over the (OCS) within 7 days.

TOBB shall check at least once a year that the e-commerce sites that have received the trustmark comply with the requirements in the legislation. Audits will also be made on complaint.
